Product Description Responding to the growing availability of HD content and increasing consumer awareness, Panasonic offers its TC-32LX600 HD LCD flat screen television that features impressive pixel response speed, helping to ensure excellent detail and smooth motion during rapid image transitions. The set also features progressive scanning, helping to create a stable, solid image, free of interlaced artifacts. The 600 series includes two HDMI inputs and a vivid mode that further improves color purity. The advanced LCD AI enhances picture contrast by increasing the gradation steps according to the displayed scene. Increased steps of gradation in white areas articulate minute differences for a realistic picture. Likewise, increased steps of gradation in dark areas enhance the sharpness and crispness in blacks. In keeping with this unit's sleek, space-efficient design, the front-firing speakers are located underneath the display, allowing for flexible installation options even in small spaces.
Amazon.com Product Description Enjoy high-impact imagery and ground-shaking audio with the 32-inch Panasonic TC-32LX600 LCD HDTV, which improves on previous models with an advanced LCD AI for superior contrast and picture quality, 3D color management system, an expanded IPS LCD panel for extra-wide viewing, and a sleeker black cabinet with swiveling pedestal stand. You'll enjoy 480p, 720p and 1080i high-definition viewing right out of the box thanks to the built-in digital ATSC tuner, which pulls HD signals right from the airwaves. You can also connect the set to an optional receiver or cable/satellite set-top box using either the dual HDMI or component connections (thanks to its built-in QAM tuner for unscrambled cable HD reception. A standard analog NTSC tuner receives standard-definition (SD) programming. Panasonic's 3D Vivid Mode color management system provides precise control based on the color differences and brightness levels that are present in a picture. It independently detects color, brightness, and luminosity levels in order to produce amazing quality in each. This fine degree of control helps to produce truly expressive images with colors that are beautifully reproduced with exceptional vibrancy. With the In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology, you're assured an excellent view even when sitting off to the side of the set. Typically, when an LCD display is viewed at an angle, the brightness, contrast and color distorts. With an IPS screen, the liquid crystal molecules undergo a switching mode that keeps the molecules within the viewable plane. This results in a more consistent brightness, contrast, and color even at wider viewing angles. This set features a top-of-class 178-degree viewing angle. Panasonic's advanced LCD AI technology incorporates two new technologies--Active Light Control System and Active Contrast/Gamma Control System--that adjust backlight brightness and contrast so that each scene has fantastic contrast and detail. Increased steps of gradation in white areas articulate minute differences for a realistic picture. Likewise, increased steps of gradation in dark areas enhance the sharpness and crispness in blacks. The TC-32LX600 has a 1366 x 768-pixel resolution, a 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and up to an amazing 3000:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) Fast pixel response time is essential to accurate image reproduction on LCD displays, and this set has features a quick 8ms (millisecond) response speed, helping to ensure excellent detail and smooth motion during high-speed scene transitions such as when watching sports. The 3D Y/C comb filter separates brightness and color signals better in 3D domain to eliminate cross-color, cross-luminance and dot-crawl distortion. It performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the color from the black-and-white information and remove both horizontally and vertically hanging dots, as well as dot crawl, resulting in a razor sharp image. Other features include aspect ratio control, video input labeling, closed caption decoder, V-Chip parental controls, sleep timer, and tri-lingual on-screen menus (English, French, and Spanish). It also offers a low power consumption of 126 watts, giving it an Energy Star rating. You'll enjoy fantastic sound from all your video programming, thanks to the integrated, bottom-mounted speakers that produce 20 watts of power (10 watts per channel) and virtual surround sound. This set includes two HDMI inputs, a single cable that carries both digital video and audio at the same time, replacing a multitude of different A/V cables. The HDAVI Control function allows you to connect multiple components--such as a Panasonic DVD recorder and home theater receiver in addition to this LCD TV--and control them all with the touch of a single button on the included remote. Here's the full line-up of audio and video connections: - Composite audio/video: 3 inputs, 1 output
- S-Video: 2 inputs
- Component video: 2 input
- HDMI: 2 input
- Headphone: 1
Tech Talk HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV). Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound. High Definition Formats: The most common high-def (HD) video format is 720p, which displays video at 720 vertical by 1280 horizontal pixels. The "p" denotes that it is progressive scan, meaning that all video lines are filled at the same time. The 1080i format displays video at 1080 vertical by 1920 horizontal pixels, and the "i" means that it is interlaced (the old-school way of presenting video where the screen scans the odd-numbered video lines first, then the even-numbered lines). The 1080p format has the same pixel resolution as 1080i, but it is a progressive scan format and thus has a constant vertical resolution of 1080 lines. 32 and 26LX600 July 30, 2008 W. Bittle (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Hi, I own both the 26" and the 32" version of this TV. I initially bought a 26LX600 and was so happy with it that I ended up buying a 32LX600. Although there are many less expensive sets in this size range, the Panasonic had the best picture quality. I looked at Samsung, Sanyo, Sony, Phillips, Magnavox etc and not one had as good an overall picture quality as these sets. It is unfortunate that they are no longer current models. The contrast ratio of 3000:1 is really excellent for a set in this size range, and the fast reaction times for the display (8 us I believe)makes for a picture that does not have the usual artifacts found in lesser sets. This LX600 series of TV's has every possible input type one could ever want. Both my 26 and 32" have HDMI, S video and component video inputs as well as a coax video input. Both sets have an onboard tuner that will pull in both digital and analog stations via a rabbit ear antenna. In fact, digital broadcasts have the picture quality of anything I can receive via my satellite. Our PBS station sends out one channel in High Definition and the picture quality with both my Panasonic sets is really breath taking. If you can find a TC-32LX600 or a TC-26LX600 and are in the market for this size set, bite the bullet and pony up the extra cash for one of these. Believe me, your eyes will thank you. Oh, another plus is that both the 26" and 32" have a 10 watt RMS per channel built in stereo amp and speakers. So, if you prefer to just use the TV's sound, this one has it covered. Sound quality is well above average as compared to other similar sized TV's. The set also has audio out jacks so you can run the sound out to a receiver if you like. The only headache is that these audio out jacks are at a fixed level. By this I mean using the remote to adjust set volume has no effect on the set's audio out jacks. If you use them, you need to adjust your sound volume via your receiver. I drive both my sets with Marantz DVD players and found that things worked best with either the S-video connection or the component video connections. Ditto for connectiong it to a satellite receiver. I tried the HDMI connection, but this presented issues with respect to being able to select the proper aspect ratio with certain programming or DVD's. Actually, when I did get it to work properly, I found no advantage to using the HDMI over the component video. The bottom line is that I have yet to find a better set then these Panasonic TV's. One is over a year old, has been through a house fire (received water and smoke damage) and the other is about 7 months old. Both work flawlessly. I did have to open up and clean out the one that went through the house fire, but amazingly it is still working! In fact, it was so soaked and dirty that I had written it off. I let it dry for about a week and just plugged it in to see what I figured would be a cool show of sparks before tossing it. Much to my amazement, the thing started to play! Even the remote still worked! So, these TV's are tough!

You Will Not Be Disappointed February 13, 2007 Mr. Robert J. Rineer (Fullerton, CA USA) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have a space limitation and was looking for the biggest screen I could find to fit in my dimensions. I am also partial to LCD's, because I having been using one for years with my computer. This Panasonic model met my physical needs and I have been satisfied with their products in the past. In addition, prices seemed to be in a downward spiral, so I felt I was getting a good deal at time of purchase. The price spiral seems to be continuing, so do your homework to make sure you are getting a fair price. The TV was easy to set up--but I was simply replacing an existing HD CRT TV, so all I had to do was to pull out my old CRT type and plug the old cables in. The only change I made was to convert to HDMI cables from my DVD player and my cable company DVR/cable box. I am not sure how much HDMI cables improve the picture--and they are pretty expensive. The on screen controls seemed easy to me, but I had previously had an HD TV and I was primed for what to expect. Novices will probably find the hook up and set up process fairly complex, particularly if you are using a stand alone stereo tuner for the first time to set up a home theater. Note this TV does not support a 1080P input--currently only used for HD/Blue Ray DVD players--it will simply convert the input to a lower quality. This was not an issue for me, as it appears that a 1080P picture provides improvement only if you are within 7 feet of a 50" TV. As I am about 10 feet from a 32", not spending the extra money for 1080P as well as the required player was a no brainer. I use cable and the HD channels (we have about 20) generally look wonderful. If you have never had HD before, the clarity can be spectacular. However, note when watching non-HD channels, the picture often looks fuzzy. This is mostly related to the HD process, although Consumer Reports indicates that this Panasonic model is only average in displaying non-HD signals. As with all my previous TV's, I was unable to get the remote to handle the basic functions of my cable box or DVD player--you may have better luck. Price was right, quality is excellent, so if the size is right and the lack of 1080P is not an issue, I can strongly recommend this model.
Excellent quality, Affordable Price January 11, 2007 N. Santiago (San Bruno, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
As the other reviewer has said, I'll keep this short, but hopefully informative. I wanted a 32 inch LCD TV with the best possible picture quality, good SDTV display along with HDTV display, the ability to fine tune the picture with many options including black level and backlight which I feel are important adjustments for an LCD screen, two HDMI inputs with HDCP and the highest contrast ratio I could find (3000:1) and last but not least, the ability to fine tune each and every input into the TV to my own preferences. This Pannie has all of the above plus more features. Originally released mid-2006, this TV has steep discounts due to Panasonic rolling out an updated version of this model that features better motion display. I took a good look at other comparable 32 inch LCD TV's in certain big box retailers and I found that none equal the TC-32LX600 display, period. I am impressed with the quality and look of this set, very sleek and modern: At first I was not too concerned with aesthetics, but now I know better! A great buy, do a little research yourself on price before you buy and you will not be disappointed.
